[SOLVED] can't boot fire 3

Hi. I can't boot my fire3 board. I've attached two videos (with power button holded on and off) - same results for any image (core-qte, lubuntu and android) downloaded from official site. I've linux on my host machine and I've tried both methods of creating installation SD card - from image and via fusing.sh script - with same results. Unfortunately I have no serial interface card at this moment.

Is it possible to get clean reason of problem from video? Is it because invalid SD card (I've 16Gb Class 10) or insufficient power (I've following string on my DC adapter: "Output: 5V 2A")?

UPD - if you can't watch the videos:
1. With power button holded after powered up I see 'friendlyarm' logo and an 'update' image after about a second.
2. Without any buttons holded after powered up I see 'friendlyarm' logo and after about two seconds green light starts blinking without any changes on display.

We suggest you take a debug serial port to see log information
Well, now I have MAX3232 and I'm able to log debug port. Here is my three boot logs:

1. With X710 display connected, normal mode (no pwer button holded)
2. Without display at all (HDMI mode)
3. With X710 display and power button holded

Output is splitted into three separate messages due to one message size limit

We're buying a WORKING SBC here, not some happy-go-lucky piece of fiberglass with smd slapped onto it to make it pretty. :evil:
I'm agree with asmodyne.. Is where some next steps? As you notices above I've buy a debug port board and show you all logs you wanted. But what should I do next? May be anyone have logs of fully functional system booting to compare its with my one and to try to find a problem by myself?

UPD. Just in case, if it can help - I have an oscilloscope (unfortunately only up to 20 MHz) and can make some measurements on board...

As seen in the wiki, in the Make an Installation SD Card / Boot NanoPi Fire3 from SD Card section :

Insert this card into your NanoPi Fire3's boot slot(1), press and hold the boot key(2) and power on (with a 5V/2A power source). If the PWR LED is on and LED1 is blinking this indicates your NanoPi Fire3 has successfully booted.

Well it's not blinking... at all... it just sits there, lit green & pretty ... So either it's not relevant to the kernel activity, or it's blinking too fast for the human eye to see.. whatever .

I managed to boot the provided Arm64 image of Ubuntu, namely s5p6818-friendly-core-xenial-4.4-arm64-20171212.img
Works fine, ethernet and all, but no HDMI yet... grinds my gears... :evil:

I've just ordered a brand new HDMI/Micro HDMI cable, just to eliminate a possible culprit the "Sherlock way", but I fear it's a kernel config issue.

(1) what the hell is a "boot slot" ? It's a "Micro-SD slot" ! Plain and simple !
(2) There's neither a "boot key" in the board's silkscreen, nor on the leaflet provided in the box, nor in the reference pictures on the wiki. There's a "power key" though, different meaning. ;)
Maybe by giving your techs some slack and a day of work or two to answer questions on the forum, your products could flood the market !

As far as I understand it's a mistake in docs - with power button holded board boots in some kind of flash update mode. And a normal bootup runs without any of buttons holded. This confirmed by boot logs received by me from serial port.

I agree - my logs indicates that kernel is booting, but something wrong with display subsystem - we should see a normal boot log to find a difference
After a number of tries I've spotted that my boot logs are pretty same for different images (lubuntu and android). And I found a problem - as noticed in many places on forum - it is an SD card! The big confusion was that SD card silently ignores any write operations, so dd utility works fine without any errors but the data on SD card leaved unchanged.

Validate your data after each image writing!!! You'll spend 10 minutes to verify SD card but save a days for searching a problem!

Here is good explanation of how to verify your SD card (at the end of article)

I wish FriendlyARM took the Raspi road and created a FAT32 mini-partition, with some human-readable kernel config file within. 8-)
Having to recompile the kernel just to change framebuffer size and HDMI mode is a hassle !

I'm afraid FriendlyElec is pretty poor in supporting their really great products. I experienced a couple of similar issues with my NanoPi NEO Air: viewtopic.php?f=47&t=1045
