Is NEON and AES encryption/decryption enabled on this build?

It should be. If you need anything special and we forget to add:

Welcome to push changes.
I have noticed strange problem with ap6212: when some device is connected to NanoPi M3 on Bluetooth, Wifi speed drops dramatically. When Bluetooth is off, I have WiFi speed about 2 MB/s. When Bluetooth is turned on, WiFi speed drops slightly, although it is still acceptable... But when some Bluetoo...
Hello, Many thanks for your very useful hints! I have tried in the meanwhile Armbian, on this the Mosquitto installation works perfectly. One reason to use the Friedly version has been WiringNP, which I got not installed on Armbian. If you have an hint in order to install this or WiringPi would be ...
Better try with https://www.armbian.com/nanopi-neo/ or http://dietpi.com which delivers a more complete linux .) It surely runs on Armbian , since it's a clean and bloat/spyware free Linux. Made and inspected by a community. Dietpi work is limited to userspace scripts, repacking. For Allwinner chip...
You might check those: https://www.armbian.com/nanopi-k2/ They are not perfect, but certainly better. I tried patching armbian u-boot and it worked a lot better than default ubuntu (mostly because of the crappy default u-boot!): Linux is stable and hdmi is working even after re-plugging it but it h...
Yes, this should be stable but what is more important - it comes with long-term support. Updates to firmware come standard Debian way. I am not sure everything is working perfectly since this is usually seen when you work with it for weeks. We didn't put this image through our regular testing proces...
Update.
After months of hard work, Armbian has come out with first stable test image (CLI or desktop) with a modern kernel 4.13.5. Welcome to check out what and how it works. Beware that (minor) troubles are still expected - but now we would like to hunt them. If you don't want to receive daily updates and ...

There are also official armbian images too, legacy and mainline kernel. Experimental.

I need to install the linux headers on the NanoPi NEO to compile a driver for the RTL8192CU wifi dongle. I'm running Ubuntu Core 16.04 on the NEO, kernel version 3.4.39-h3. I tried getting the source files from here: https://github.com/friendlyarm/h3_lichee and renamed the "linux-3.4" dir...
Thanks for your quick answer. I tried building for Neo Air with arm-linux-gnueabihf-gcc and it works for me too without any error. For Neo2 and/or Neo Plus2 I will try something that You mentioned to me or I will use branch 2017.03 till I can not build the another. Thanks again. Check https://githu...

Anyone manage to get 32 bit apps to run on the H5? I contacted support and was informed that it is not currently supported.

Supported on Armbian out of the box ... while Neo Plus 2 is not yet 100% supported.Check preview image: https://www.armbian.com/nanopi-neo-plus2/
Third solution. I don't use neither Ubuntu/Debian/Armbian but Yocto for eMMC. You can probably adapt this repository below to your needs but this is worth the effort if you need something custom. https://github.com/auto3000/meta-nanopi-neo-air He wanted to put Ubuntu/Debian on different hardware. Get Armbian and this (headers are already installed by default) will work out of the box. With much more recent and fixed kernel.
When I use the serial console, there is no problem. But over ssh, there is considerable lag, sometimes freezing for several seconds. It will freeze both ssh connections if there are 2. I think this lead to wifi. The raspberry pi doesn't have this problem. Are there wifi parameters to adjust? Disabl...

I have used spi bus with Ubuntu 3.4 on nanopi neo air . I loaded Ubuntu 4.11 recently on my evaluation board, and noticed that the spi driver is missing in the kernel. In other words, there is no /dev/spidev0.0. Please help. I do appreciate some responses from the friendlyArm. We plan to purchase m...

Take a look at this:

Nano Pi Neo and Air are fully supported. Image can be burn directly to internal eMMC, where possible (Neo Air) and serial console can be accessed via USB port, so you don't need to solder anything.

Note that kernel 4.9 is not yet working properly ... 3.4.113 is working just fine, within Debian Jessie or Ubuntu Xenial, etc.

Will this run on NEO?

It might, but NEO needs slightly different configuration. So you might need to change it prior to boot or after if it boots ok.
