I hooked up the 10 inch 1280x800 LCD. The texts under the icons were blurred, so I altered /home/pi/.config/autostart/lxrandr-autostart.desktop to 1280x800 refresh rate 59.91.
Rebooted and it displays properly.
Touch also works.
I have just ordered a 1280x800 display to see if that works as xrandr lists it.
800x480 LCD's are quite common for SBC's with Mali chipsets (ODROID-C2, ODROID-N2, BananaPi, Cubieboard,OrangePi, etc.,etc.) running Ubuntu or any other flavour of Linux desktop except friendly ARM M4. The 7 inch LCD is fine on Android so it's obviously a driver support problem. My application calls...

HDMI says no output on friendly desktop. Android works fine. I would like to use this 7 inch LCD with Ubuntu. Currently using a 22 inch LCD. root@NanoPi-M4v2:~# xrandr Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1920 x 1080, maximum 16384 x 16384 DVI-D-1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y ax...
Thanks, I'll give it a try this evening.
Has anyone encountered this problem? Installed rk3399-sd-friendlydesktop-bionic-4.4-arm64-20190718.img. apt update followed by apt upgrade starts upgrading lots of packages and fails part way through and reboot won't work needing a reinstall of the img on the uSD card. It seems there is a difference...
Which Friendly Elec displays work with the M4? Does the standard Raspberry PI display also work with this board? Thanks Doug That's what I would also like to know. I have a 7 inch touch LCD 800x480 resolution attached to the HDMI port but it displays nothing. root@NanoPi-M4:~# ps fax|grep X 657 tty...
Ever since I installed Ubuntu on Fire 3 the 7" HDMI screen display was fine.
Recently it suddenly changed so I only get a bright display so nothing is readable.

It's possibly a hardware problem but I would like to see what the settings are over a ssh connection.
I tried s5p6818-friendly-core-xenial-4.4-arm64-20180228.img but Xorg ends up as a zombie task. Went back to the original microSD card with s5p6818-friendly-core-xenial-4.4-arm64-20180209.img installed. Still getting a white screen with Xorg up and running. Over an ssh login "init 3" follow...
The wiki says to compile a new kernel and only lists 3.4.y but it's running on 4.4.49-s5p6818 from s5p6818-friendly-core-xenial-4.4-arm64-20180209.img The screen resolution needed is 800x480 and I originally booted with a LCD that failed.
